The Mid-West Guitar Symposium is a two day event sponsored by McPherson College and Kennedy Guitar Studio. It is held in McPherson, Kansas and features great learning opportunities for classical guitarists and guitar enthusiasts alike!

Our featured guitarist and maestro is Bill O'Brien!

Bill O’Brien comes to us from Pocatello Idaho, where he was the Adjunct Guitar
Instructor at Idaho State University for 36 years before retiring in 2018. He holds
Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance degrees from
Northern Arizona University where he studied with Tom Sheeley. He has studied
in Master Class with the Argentinian maestro, Manuel Lopez-Ramos.
He has played recitals throughout Southern Idaho as well as Arizona. He has also
adjudicated for competitions and served as a guest clinician in Idaho. Several of
his students have gone on to successful guitar careers of their own. One of those students, Jean Kennedy (Kennedy Guitar Studio) will join him on his April 26th concert.

His concert program will include music from Spain, the Caribbean, and Brazil.

In addition to his featured concert, Mr. O'Brien will teach a Guitar Technique Class

and a Masterclass for solo guitar and ensemble.
